EJS
ps: il mio quadro Freedom in qualche modo nasconde un numero. Qualcuno riesce a individuarlo?
ENGLISH: One of my last artistic creations is called Freedom. Like in my previous creation Password, also in this painting I used real keys. In this case the keys compose the writng F-R-E-E-D-O-M and they are golden. By this I want to express how precious is freedom for all of us, everybody should be free. The only freedom we shouldn’t have is doing bad things against ourselves and the others and we shouldn’t either answer to the evil with other evil. These keys are covered with blood. This means that unfortunately freedom is often paid with the price of life. Just it happened few days ago in Paris in the terroristic attack against Charlie Hebdo Journal where 12 innocent people died. This happens everyday in every part of he world, sometimes in the complete silence. Freedom is an universal value: it can be the freedom of expression, the freedom of thought, freedom of worship, freedom of sexual orientation, freedom from chains, freedom to attend customs and traditions, in other words freedom to be ourselves. What happened in these days underlined the importance of this value. Freedom should be granted to everybody – always – but unfortunatley this doesn’t happen because people rarely admit feelings and thoughts different from their own ones. It’s very symbolic the image of the broken pencil. Only in appearance and at the moment it’s broken: from that two parts, in fact, other two pencils will be born soon and they will keep peacefully to fight in order to protect that freedom. Evil is not the final winner, at the end. EJS
ps: my painting Freedom somehow hides a number. Can someone guess which one?
